Megan & Pete are possibly one of the cutest couples I've ever met! I was so excited when Pete contacted me about photographing his surprise wedding proposal to his girlfriend, Megan. They live in New Jersey but were planning a weekend trip to Washington, DC, and he wanted to propose to her near the monuments on the National Mall. We decided to meet up at the Constitution Gardens Pond near the Lincoln Memorial, and it ended up being the perfect spot for their special moment.
The day started out cold, windy, and snowy, but by the afternoon the sun was trying to break through the clouds (but it was still pretty cold and windy!). I don't know how Pete convinced Megan to go out exploring in that weather, but I'm so glad he did. :) I've had the privilege of photographing two proposals in DC now, and I can't tell you how exciting it is to be able to document one of the most special times in a couple's life!
Needless to say, Megan did say "yes" to Pete's super sweet proposal, and she was so surprised when she found out that he had planned for a photographer as well. We spent some time walking around the monument area for a few engagement photos, and I just love how happy and genuine they were.
Congratulations, again, Megan and Pete! I wish you all the best with your wedding planning and life together!
