Dorer | Pike Place Market Family Session

If there’s one session I did while living in Washington that is the quintessential Seattle session (think cool downtown vibes, rainy/cloudy/dreary weather, muted tones, and iconic Seattle spots), then this session might be it.

I was super excited when the Dorer family scheduled a downtown Seattle session for their family back in 2017. It was fall, which is always a beautiful but iffy time in western Washington—it could be gorgeous and sunny for most of the month and then suddenly start raining for days on end and not stop until spring. :) Luckily it wasn’t raining during this session YET, but it was dark and gloomy and threatening to start pouring the whole time (and I think it actually started raining on my way home!).

As you can see, the Dorers have two ADORABLE kids (who, admittedly, weren’t super impressed with my jokes that day, but maybe I was off my game :)), and I really loved the cool outfits everyone wore. Kristi wanted to take photos around the downtown area near Pike Place Market, and I was more than happy to oblige. I always love shooting at Pike Place because there are so many interesting textures and colors everywhere. I could literally photograph the same place a hundred times and it would inspire me differently every single time! I love Alaska’s mountains and views but sometimes I kind of miss shooting in Seattle. :)

I hope you enjoy!
