I was so excited when Lin contacted me about doing a graduation session on the National Mall back in May! I've done quite a few sessions in Washington, DC since we've lived here, and I always love the chance to go into the city and re-explore the historic spots and monuments. For her session we chose to meet at the Lincoln Memorial because I love the pillars and the marble of the monument itself, and the Reflecting Pool right in front is the perfect backdrop.
Lin is a recent Class of 2015 Graduate of George Washington University (her graduation ceremony was literally the day before our session!), and she wanted some of her photos to include her graduation cap and gown. This was the only time we could meet because she and her father were getting ready to leave for a summer in India just a few days later!
This was a "test shot", but it turned out amazing because she's a natural in front of the camera!
Her dad couldn't be prouder. :)
I love these cap-and-gown shots!
This shot was Lin's idea, and I was kind of giddy about it!
This ended up being my favorite image from the day! I love her pose and I love the Washington Monument in the background.
She wanted her photos to be very DC to commemorate her time here, and I think this captures the essence of everything Washington, DC represents.
I feel like this should be an ad for George Washington University. :)
Congratulations on your graduation, Lin, and I hope you're having the best summer!!
