I was super excited to have the opportunity to photograph Amanda and Alex's elopement in downtown Washington DC back in May. I absolutely love doing elopements, and when they told me they wanted to do some portraits at the National Gallery of Art & Sculpture Gardens after the ceremony... I admit I got a little giddy (okay, maybe a lot giddy). :)
Anyway. I met Amanda and Alex at the courthouse in downtown DC for their ceremony, and I felt like we had somehow been friends forever already! They were totally relaxed and fun, and I really enjoyed spending the afternoon with them. They were so cute, so in love, so happy, and just so perfect. We had a great time walking through the art museum and I honestly could not be happier for this adorable couple!
They had the sweetest vows. :)
High five!
We started their portrait session in the East wing of the Art gallery.
I just love the lines this staircase and the wall created!
I also loved this piece... I may or may not have squealed just a little when I saw it. :)
There's a very cool walkway that connects the East and West wings of the art gallery. The walkway is an art piece in itself because all of these twinkling lights create different patterns!
I wanted to stop at every fountain we came across, but that probably would've been way too many fountain pictures. :)
While strolling through the sculpture garden, we had to stop and snap a few photos with the National Archives Museum in the background.
Because Alex just happens to work there. No big deal, right?
See how cute they are??
Also, I may or may not have said "cute" about a hundred times during their session. :)
This ivy-covered wall was just... yeah.
Seriously! So cute!
Amanda and Alex: Thank you for allowing me to capture your special day!
